A workshop that is going to show you how I went from spending every single night and weekend planning → to leaving at my contracted time and spending my weekends doing what I wanted to do instead of what I needed to do!
→ The Curriculum Mapping Workshop is a three-part video series for any grade or class. This workshop will take you through the process of understanding why curriculum mapping matters and aligning your curriculum and standards to your school calendar to be sure that you're able to cover all of the content needed and get your nights and weekends back!

The first video in this three-part video series is going to cover why curriculum mapping matters and how it is going to help you get your nights and weekends back so that you can continue doing the things that matter most to you!
Prioritizing Your Target Standards
In the second part of this video series, you are going to learn how to prioritize your standards and activities to ensure that you are teaching your students everything they need to know and leaving time for important lessons and activities.
Aligning Your Curriculum to Your School Calendar
The third part of this video series is going to cover breaking down your curriculum and school calendar to be sure that you have enough days to cover all of the important information that your students need to know.

What is the time commitment to do something like this?
Mapping out your curriculum can take anywhere from a few hours to an entire day to do.
The big thing here is deciding what end product you want!
If you want a curriculum map that you can glance at every now and again to see if you're on pace, it might only take you a few hours. However, if you're willing to put in the work upfront to save a ton of work down the road, it will more than likely take you a good chunk of your day!
However, please remember, you can do this in the amount of time that works for you. This workshop is a work-at-your-own-pace type of class. If you have a long weekend and want to work on it for a few hours a day throughout the long weekend, that's totally fine! However, if you're someone who just wants to sit down and get it all done that same day, you'll have that option too!

Anything and everything that you learn throughout this workshop can absolutely be transferred over to other classes/content standards!
Many of the tips and tricks I will use during this workshop can easily be applied to any content area. However, I will specifically be using math materials for the focus of this workshop.

I'm Kayla,
and this is my ninth year in education. If there is one thing I have learned over the past six years, it's that we all need a little help every so often.
During my first two years of teaching I spent every extra minute I had lesson planning, just trying to stay afloat. Towards the end of my second year, I knew there had to be a better way!
I spent my entire summer learning and researching, and after some trial and error, I finally had a curriculum map that changed my next three years of teaching.
Not only did I have more time to spend doing the things that mattered the most to me, but once the work was done, I was able to use my curriculum map again and again!
However, I absolutely do not want you spending your entire summer trying to learn how to map out your curriculum. Instead, I am going to show you how to do it in one sitting!
