This sounds amazing!

Part 1. What To Do Before Applying for Jobs

Let's talk about teacher interviews! There is so much more to an interview than just showing up. My good friend Stephen Covey always says to begin with the end in mind. When we incorporate this principle into the world of teaching, the goal isn't simply to land the job.

It's so much more than that. We need to think big picture. Who are we as educators? Where do we want to end up? What supports are we looking for as a first-year teacher? This, my friend, is exactly what we are focusing on during part 1!

We need to figure out who we are as educators and what our needs are as a first-year teacher. If these are things you're still figuring out, this training is for you!

Part 2. How to Research a School / District Before an Interview

Always remember, you're interviewing a school just as much as they are interviewing you! Before putting in those applications, make sure to do your research! Finding a school that feels like home has a direct effect on teacher retention!

If you have no idea where to begin when it comes to researching schools, be sure to check out part two from this four-part training series! During this session we are diving into:

  • What you need to research before applying for a job
  • What to research before an interview
  • How to research a school/district and what information is imperative to find
  • How that information will help you stand out and make a positive impression during your interview

Part two is all about HOW to research a school to ensure they are a good fit for you!

Part 3. Interviewing Tips and Strategies

Out of all of the new teacher candidates, why should they hire you?

  • Are you personable?
  • Do you like kids?
  • Would you make a good teammate?
  • Are you teachable?
  • What makes you the right fit vs every other teacher who has the same qualifications as you?

How are you going to use your interview time to let your light shine, showcase, your unique strength, and stand out amongst the rest?

If you are hoping to make a positive impression during your interview, part 3 is going to speak to you!

This session is broken up into (3) parts -

  1. Why they should hire you
  2. Common interview questions asked
  3. How to prepare and feel confident going into your first interview!

Part 4. Preparing for Your First Teaching Position

You've got the job.. now what?

Part 4 is all about preparing for your first teaching position!

What we're covering:

  • How to maximize your time this summer
  • What to prioritize
  • What NOT to prioritize

If you have the keys to your classroom but you're not sure what to do next, part four has all the ideas!
